Christmas In Mexico happens Saturday and Sunday December 5th & 6th throughout the Village and Town of Mexico.
On Saturday, starting at 9 AM many churches will hold Bazaars, The MACS Music Boosters will hold a “Christmas Treasure” sale, many of the shops up and down Main Street will offer sales, coupons and refreshments to patrons. Black Magic Stables will be on hand all day to provide horse drawn sleigh rides to and from the various activities for free !
A Christmas parade takes place at 3:30 that afternoon followed by a tree lighting ceremony and a visit with Santa for the children. All day Saturday many “Friends Of Bob Cratchit” will be strolling the Village , shops and sales greeting customers, caroling and making Merry for Christmas. Ebenezer & his friends very likely will be about ! A live nativity scene will be held at Lighthouse Village Park in the Gazebo at 5 PM Saturday.
On Sunday, December 6th the Mexico Historical Society will hold their sixth annual Christmas Concert at the First Presbyterian Church on Church Street (Route 69) in the Village. Music is followed by a lovely dessert reception. A raffle drawing will take place for a hand crafted table , a gift certificate to Greco’s Touch of Country and a Lia Sophia holiday jewelry selection at the concert.
On Sunday evening at 6 PM a live nativity scene will be happening at the Freihofer Farm on Academy Street. The live nativity on Sunday is hosted by the Freihofers and the Youth Groups of the First United Methodist Church of Mexico.
