Recognition was given at a breakfast and lunch reception for both the morning and afternoon students. While the honor is based on grade point average, work ethic, attitude and attendance were also considered.

Universal Technical Institute representative Ginny Perrine was invited as a guest speaker. Perrine is a CTE Automotive alum from a western NY BOCES and went on to teach the program she graduated from before continuing to the Universal Technical Institute. She also earned first place at the Skills USA stat competition her senior year of high school.

“CTE is one of the main reasons that I am where I am right now,” she said. “You can do so many things with the education you are getting from CiTi. I encourage you to follow your career passion.”

Every student received a certificate of recognition from Career and Technical Education Assistant Principal Joseph Olsen.

“You should be proud of yourselves,” said Olsen. “You are considered leaders in your respective classes and for that you should hold your head up high.
