CiTi Construction Students Build Playhouses

Construction Technology students from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation are building children’s playhouses in class.

Construction Technology students from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation put the finishing touches on a children’s playhouse they built in class.
Construction Technology students from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation put the finishing touches on a children’s playhouse they built in class.

The project requires the Career and Technical Education students to read and analyze building blueprints as they construct the house using framing principles associated with residential framing.

“The playhouses have allowed the students the chance to demonstrate the hands-on skills they have learned so far,” said construction technology teacher Craig Mahon.

The majority of the lumber used for the project was harvested and milled on the CiTi campus by the Outdoor Power class.
