The Career and Technical Education students worked together with local stylists and barbers to shave the heads of participants who raised funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

The local hair stylists offered their guidance and helpful pointers to the students, as did CiTi Cosmetology Instructors Rose Hartman and Ines Rovito.

Prior to the event, the cosmetology students held a St. Baldrick’s fundraiser on CiTi’s Mexico campus, where they accepted donations for manicures, pedicures and up-dos, among a variety of other cosmetology services.

The morning and afternoon classes’ efforts raised $402 to help fight childhood cancers.

St. Baldrick’s Day also featured several CiTi cosmetology alumni, including 2009 graduate Kassidy Carr who lauded the program.

She now works at Downtown Barber and Shave Co. in Oswego.
