Dirk, a resident of Oswego for many years, can be seen at Fort Ontario during Oswego’s annual Harborfest portraying Dr. Mary Walker or Belle Boyd.

She has also portrayed either Boyd or Walker in Gettysburg, at the Wax Museum in Waterloo for their yearly Memorial Day weekend, at the Canandaigua Veteran’s Hospital, at the DUVCW National Convention in addition to many Civil War encampments.

Dirk is an avid Civil War buff and educator of the Civil War who enjoys bringing Belle Boyd and Dr. Mary Walker to life.

Dirk’s motto is “Without a past, we have no future.”

Marilyn does a great job recreating the historic person … everyone should go to this meeting, not just Hannibal residents!
