Cleveland Historical Society Hosts Dinner and Silent Auction

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Historical Society will hold its annual spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Jan. 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion on state Route 49 in Cleveland.

The menu features spaghetti, homemade meatballs and sauce, sausage, tossed salad, Italian bread, homemade desserts and beverages.

Dinner prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children aged 6 to 12, and free for those aged 5 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and take-out meals will be available.

“We started this dinner in 2004 and it is, along with our membership drive, our main fundraiser,” said Kathy Darrow, historical society vice president. “As always, it is a great opportunity for people to come out and enjoy a delicious dinner, visit with friends and family, and support this historical society. However, this year, we are also celebrating our 30th anniversary, so people will see a display at our membership table that highlights some of our activities as well as local history.”

Throughout the meal, guests can participate in a silent auction which features many quality items such as local prints, vintage pieces, glassware, paintings and gift certificates.

People can also use this chance to become historical society members.

A table will be set up for those interested to complete their membership form, pay their dues and receive a free gift.

Dues are $10 per person, $15 for two people and $20 for a family or business.

“We need both active and supporting members and everyone who signs up will receive e-mails of our activities throughout the year as well,” added Darrow.
