Clifford John LaMay, 69, of Fulton died Sunday at home.
John, as he was known, was born in Fulton, a son to the late Clifford and Carina Thornhill LaMay and was a lifelong resident of Fulton. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1960 and was a member of Fulton’s first high school wrestling team. After high school, John graduated from Michigan University and was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in Vietnam.
John was an insurance broker serving all of Oswego County. He was past master of the Lake City Lodge #127 F&A M in Oswego. He was past president of Fulton Toastmasters and past board member of the Oswego County Vietnam Veterans Association.
John loved to golf with his friends and played throughout the southeast.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Guyle LaMay; a son, Scott J. LaMay of Fulton; a sister, Joyce McDowell of Oswego; a brother, Rev. Gene (Jeanne) LaMay of Lakeland, FL; two grandchildren, Faythe and Brayden LaMay; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home, Fulton with burial at New Haven Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.
