FULTON, NY – Summer classes are now forming for a series of classes with Bonnie McClellan. No experience is required for these classes. Students will complete a painting during the class as the instructor paints alongside, step by step teaching brush strokes and techniques.
Enthusiastic response to Bonnie’s unique teaching style have created an iconic following.
“I just fell in love with the process of painting,” said Diane Sokolowski, eager student. “Bonnie makes it so easy. I never imagined I could walk in, start with a blank canvas, and go home with a completed painting.” Diane and several other students regularly enjoy Bonnie’s classes learning her technique with pallet knife painting among others.
Rediscovering a childhood passion for painting, artist Bonnie McClellan picked up a paint brush just 3 years ago and quickly launched an art career that includes not only her paintings, but a role as gallery director, board member and teacher for CNY Arts Center.
As coordinator of Arts in the HeART Gallery in downtown Fulton Bonnie oversees a volunteer staff and the art work of more than 2 dozen local artists.
Students can learn Bonnie’s technique with a pallet knife while painting an “Old Barn Sunset” Saturday June 21 from 9am to noon. “Geese in Flight”, in oils, June 25 from 6 to 9 pm is followed by “The Falls” in oils July 2 from 6 to 9 pm, and “Elk in Birches” in oils on custom beveled canvas July 16 from 6 to 9 pm.
