CNY Arts Center hosts BBQ

CNY Arts Center invites the public to a chicken BBQ Sunday, August 21st at Fulton’s Polish Home, 153 W. First St from 11:30 until sold out. Classic BBQ from Frickin Chicken will be the highlight of the picnic with dinners which include a half chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, dinner roll and dessert. Beverages will be available for extra. CNY Arts Center is hosting the event to raise awareness and recruit members for their goal of opening an Arts Center in Fulton for Oswego County and the surrounding region.

“We’ve been talking to people all summer and getting the word out. This BBQ is a great follow-up to our Arts Fest on the River and a chance to enjoy a late summer afternoon and the popular taste of barbecue chicken,” said Nancy Fox, Director. “We’re also actively promoting our membership drive with low cost memberships available at the BBQ. As a bonus, anyone signing up for a membership at the BBQ will be entered in a drawing for a special prize – just for new members. If you’ve been thinking about getting a membership, now is the time to do it!”

The group reports enthusiasm for the arts center is increasing as memberships grow. “With over 80 members now we have a significant beginning as we continue pushing toward our goal of 1,000 new members by year’s end,” Fox continues. “Talk of a facility to begin programming really drives our momentum. We are doing everything we can to encourage people to invest in the Arts Center and realize this give them a bit of ownership in something that promises to improve the economic climate of Fulton. One membership at a time means people are doing their part to help things get better.”

Current members will be available to talk about the Arts Center and recruit artists and crafters for an Arts Market scheduled for September. The group will also be delivering chicken dinners to Towpath Towers and Fulton Mills so everyone can have a hot, fresh BBQ chicken dinner.

To reserve a chicken dinner, contact Fox at 598-8812 or pick up tickets at the Arts Center booth at Fulton’s Farmer’s Market on Saturdays. For more information about the group, visit
