CNY Arts Center offers Pay-What-You-Can option

FULTON, NY – In an effort to make theater continually affordable to all audiences, CNY Arts Center will offer a Pay-What-You-Can option for Searching for Eden: The Diaries of Adam and Eve at the final dress rehearsal 8 p.m. February 13.

The romantic comedy starring Peter and Kelly Mahan officially opens February 14 at CNY Arts Center, 357 State St., Fulton.

“We like having an audience at the final run through before opening,” said Nancy Fox, director. “It is a good opportunity for the actors to gauge audience reactions and laugh lines. In lieu of a formal ticket, we simply give audiences an opportunity to choose if they would like to contribute. This allows an extra evening to attend for those who have conflicts with other events or look for a discounted ticket price.”

“Dress rehearsals can be fun for the audience,” Fox addedc. “We hope for a polished performance by the final run through but anything can happen from dropped lines to snafus with scenery and props or wardrobe malfunctions. And as the first audience it can be a different bonding experience with the actors drawing heavily from audience reactions and energies.”

Searching for Eden, The Diaries of Adam and Eve premiers February 14 with a pre-show dinner and dessert at intermission.

Billed as Date Night, doors open at 6:30 p.m. and all tickets must be prepaid.

No tickets will be available for sale at the door.

The show continues February 15 at 8 p.m., doors open at 7:30 p.m.; and February 16 at 3 p.m. with doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Both Saturday and Sunday will feature special desserts available for additional purchase along with tickets.
