CNY Arts Center seeks Artists for combined Arts Fest, Arts Market

FULTON – Five summers ago in July 2011, CNY Arts Center debuted its first Arts Fest on the River in downtown Fulton and followed that with Arts Market in the Nestlé’s parking lot in September.

Shoppers enjoy a beautiful outdoor experience at a previous arts market. The annual event is being combined with arts festival in one community arts festival and market this fall.

This year, in celebration of its fifth summer of family Art fun, CNY Arts Center is combining these two events in one. The Community Arts Festival and Market will be held at its new location on River Glen Drive, in the parking lot of Cayuga Community College, on September 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We’ve taken the best of both events and planned one super event perfect for the entire community,” said Diane Sokolowski, event organizer. “There will be plenty of parking, great visibility, and room for many artists and vendors. This event is free and open to the public.”

“This is truly a celebration of the arts and a market as well in the variety of vendors we’re seeking,” Sokolowski continued. “It’s become an early kickoff to the holiday shopping with unique original arts and crafts from local artisans. The event will host artists, craft vendors, flea market vendors, and food vendors. We are also proud to include independent consultants who work from home selling commercial product lines. Because these small business owners can have a significant economic impact and need to reach a broader public, we always accept a limited number of vendors from this category alongside hand-made original arts and crafts.”

In keeping with the theme of the city-wide yard sale, they also accept a limited number of flea-market vendors.

Antiques and vintage vendors are also welcome.

“We’re happy to host non-profit organizations with no vendor fee. We encourage nonprofit organizations to use the community outreach to promote the good work they do in the community,” Sokolowski  said. “We will have entertainment throughout the afternoon on the CNY Arts Center stage including Elvis, Singing duets, Poetry Reading with music, and dancing. The community can also tour the Center.  By coinciding with the city wide yard sale day, we hope everyone will stop by the college and enjoy a great day of artful fun and shopping.”

Spaces are 12’ x 12’ outside on concrete so vendors must have their own weights for tents. Electricity, tents, tables, and chairs are not provided.

In the event of rain, indoor space may be available.

Vendors will be notified according to registration date if indoor space is an option.
