OSWEGO, NY – In February, the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions received funding from the New York Council on Problem Gambling to participate in the YOU(th) Decide project to work to prevent underage gambling in Oswego County.
With these funds, agency staff have been raising awareness among youth, parents and community leaders through face-to-face presentations, outreach, and media and decreasing youth access to gambling through capacity building and policy work.
The County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions would like to recognize the following groups/organizations/businesses for signing a resolution in support of our underage gambling prevention efforts:
• Hannibal Free Library
• Stability Fitness of Oswego
• Elks of Oswego
Thank you to everyone who supported the 2015 YOU(th) Decide project and helped the County of Oswego Council on Alcoholism and Addictions bring awareness to the dangers associated with underage gambling, and to decrease youth access to gambling.
