Scheduled for September 7, the event will be held from 8 – 9 a.m. at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. (behind Fajita Grill on Route 104 West) in Oswego.

According to United Way Resource Development Director Ali McGrath, Campaign Cabinet Chairperson, Dick Delaney of Novelis, and his fellow cabinet members are planning an enlightening program that will focus on the theme of this year’s United Way Campaign, “Share Your Story.”

“We’re looking to provide community members with a clear understanding of the positive impact that United Way has on Oswego County,” said McGrath. “Our theme of ‘Share Your Story’ will help achieve that as representatives from our board of directors, campaign cabinet, and staff from some of the agencies and programs United Way supports share their story of how the United Way’s focus on ending hunger, helping youth succeed and creating healthier communities inspires them to support United Way and commit to positively impacting the quality of life in every corner of Oswego County.”

Comprised of a cross-section of concerned community leaders, the United Way’s Campaign Cabinet works hand in hand with the United Way staff as they plan, implement and oversee the United Way’s Annual Campaign.

“It’s inspiring to witness the dedication and commitment that these individuals have for their community,” said United Way Campaign Assistant Kay Duguay. “Whether it’s helping to establish employee giving campaigns, coordinating company presentations, or speaking with civic groups and other organizations, the members of our Campaign Cabinet are dedicated to sharing the United Way’s mission with the community.”

“Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life, added McGrath.  “By our guests share their stories it drives home the fact that it really does take everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future for all of Oswego County.”

The United Way Annual Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast marks the official start to the United Way 2017 Annual Campaign.

The campaign helps to raise funds for 30 human services programs that are provided through United Way’s partner agencies.
