What’s got fourth grade students at Phoenix’s Michael A. Maroun Elementary School all jazzed up?

Music.
The students, under the direction of music teachers Carol Van Gorder and Jody Lentz performed a concert in mid-May where they highlighted some of the most popular music of the 1930s and 1940s.
Songs, including “Jazz,” “The Blues,” “Jazz Is On Its Way,” “To Swing Or Not To Swing,” and “Wadda, Wadda, Wadda” took the audience on a musical journey through the genres of jazz, swing, and the blues.
