FULTON – April 3, 2024, The City of Fulton will be closing government business offices on Monday, April 8, in support of the State of Emergency declared by Oswego County on April 2. The State of Emergency (SOE) was declared as a precautionary measure, in anticipation of a surge in visitors entering the county on April 8, 2024 to view the eclipse that may put a strain on health, safety and traffic resources.
Fulton City Mayor Jim Rice said “Many activities are planned around the city and on the lakeside in celebration of this once-in-a-lifetime event in Fulton. We are looking forward to visitors joining us as we mark this historic occasion.”
The closure will include the City Clerk/Chamberlain, Code Enforcement, Assessor and Personnel offices. Those who wish to pay bills may do so on the city website at fultonny.org[1] or wait until Tuesday to pay in person.
The Senior Nutrition Program will serve meals in the Community Room at City Hall an hour earlier, at 11 a.m. Seniors are encouraged to depart the Community room by 1 p.m.
The Court will be open until noon.
The Planning Meeting set for 6 p.m. will take place as scheduled.

If you are viewing the eclipse, remember to wear appropriate eclipse-viewing eyewear that complies with ISO 12312-2 standards. Please do not wear these glasses while driving.
