OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Health Department has announced its next “Living Well with Chronic Disease” workshop series. The program begins on Aug. 27 and continues every Wednesday for six weeks at ConnextCare, 120 E. First St. in Oswego. Each session runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and the program is open to county residents.
The series helps people who live with or care for someone with a chronic disease learn how to better manage their health. Chronic health conditions covered in the class include high blood pressure, obesity, arthritis and kidney disease. Participants will learn how to deal with issues such as fatigue, pain, trouble breathing, stress and talking with a health care provider.
Every interactive workshop is facilitated by a trained lifestyle coach who encourages participants to connect with each other in a supportive environment.
