OSWEGO – Candidates in contested races for the Oswego County Legislature will answer questions from citizens at a Meet The Candidates night at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at the Scriba Fire Barn, 5618 Rt. 104, Oswego. Two candidates for New York State Supreme Court Justice will also appear. The forum is hosted by the non-partisan pro-democracy organization Indivisible – Oswego County, which believes voters should have choices for every elected office.
To date, confirmed attendees are:
Virginia Delbusto-Cohen, 3rd Legislative District (covering parts of Richland), Common Ground line
Bailey Lovenguth, 4th District (Amboy, parts of Mexico and Parish), Democratic and Common Ground lines
Stephanie McHugh Edwards, 13th District (parts of New Haven and Palermo), Democratic and Common Ground lines
Juniper Mae Dunlap, 14th District (portions of Scriba and Volney), Democratic and Common Ground lines
Christine Novak, 16th District (parts of Oswego City), Democratic and Common Ground lines
Dorothy Caldwell, 17th District (parts of Oswego City and Scriba), Democratic and Common Ground lines
Gena Bartlett, 24th District (parts of Granby, Minetto, and Oswego Town), Democratic and Common Ground lines
All candidates for County Legislature seats have been invited. In addition, two candidates for New York State Supreme Court Justice, Fifth Judicial District will be present. They are Elizabeth “Betsey” Snyder Fortino and Candace L.L. Randall, both running on the Democratic party line.
Voters can find out which legislative district they live in by visiting https://voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/[1]. Nine days of early voting begin Oct. 25 and end Sunday, Nov. 2, leading up to the regular election day on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Visit the county Board of Elections website[2] for details.
