OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management announces an expansion of its public transportation service. ACCESS Oswego County will now operate seven days a week! The first pick-up can be as early as 8:30 a.m., while the final pick-up can be as late as 5 p.m. every day.

The service is available to those who do not live along an existing Centro or Oswego County Public Transit bus route. However, if someone already served by a bus route needs transportation outside of the route’s hours of operation, they can use the ACCESS service to get a ride.

“We’re so excited about the expansion of our ACCESS program, a free curb-to-curb transportation service for county residents” said Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow. “People can simply make a reservation at least two business days before their trip and one of our buses will come to their home to get them. Expanding this service to the weekends makes it easier than ever to get around Oswego County.”

People can use the ACCESS service for round-trip transportation to any destination within Oswego County. They can also use the service as a “first-mile, last-mile” connection to the broader Centro bus schedule. There are no age, income or application requirements to use the service.

To make an ACCESS reservation, residents can call 315-598-1514 or 1-877-484-3287.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23, riders will also be able to reserve a ride through Oswego County’s new app, “Ride Oswego.” The app will be available for download on the Apple App Store or on Google Play.

“In addition to our ACCESS update, we are also thrilled to announce that all of our Oswego County Public Transit buses are now equipped with upgraded technology featuring multilingual audio and visual announcements,” Snow added. “This means that announcements are now available in multiple languages, and clear audio announcements are synchronized with visual displays so that no one misses an important message about their trip. These upgrades help make our transit services more accessible and user-friendly for all riders and ensure that everyone has a comfortable and informed travel experience.”
