‘Ride Oswego County’ App Launches Sept. 23

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management announces that its new public transportation app, “Ride Oswego County,” launches on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The app allows riders to find and plan transportation routes more easily.

“The ‘Ride Oswego County’ app is another initiative to remove transportation barriers for residents,” said Oswego County Legislator Mary Ellen Chesbro, District 10, chairwoman of the Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “With this app, riders can now find the best travel options, track the location of their bus in real time, receive important notifications about their route, and more. This will make it easier than ever for people to use and understand Oswego County public transportation.”

Riders will also be able to use the app to book trips through the ACCESS Oswego County transit service. ACCESS is a free curb-to-curb transportation service available to residents that live outside of existing Oswego County Public Transit and Centro bus routes. The service runs seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Trips must be scheduled at least two business days in advance.

“We’re so excited about ‘Ride Oswego County’ and can’t wait for residents to use it,” said Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow. “While the app doesn’t officially launch until Sept. 23, it is currently available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. In addition to connecting riders with safe, accessible and reliable transportation more efficiently, the app will provide us with valuable data to help ensure we’re meeting public transportation needs in Oswego County.”
