Friends of the Oswego Public Library and Oswego Bookmobile invite the community to a morning of food and fun at the Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, April 19. The event is hosted by Christ the Good Shepherd Church and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additional activities include a free children’s craft and a “blind date with a book” sale.
The breakfast, prepared by the Knights of Columbus, will feature pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, juice and coffee.
Attendees can participate in a raffle featuring a “Mice & Meow” quilt designed by Jeanne Brown and quilted by Carol Fitzsimmons; a package donated by JP Jewelers, including a tanzanite and diamond pendant on a white gold chain, valued at $600, and a $100 gift certificate; a $100 lottery board; a local gift card package including a $55 gift card to rivers’ end bookstore, a $25 gift card donated by Price Chopper and a $20 gift card to Oswego Cinema; and a MacKenzie-Childs ornament donated by Ellen Himes paired with a $50 gift card to Texas Roadhouse.
“The outpouring of support we receive at this event every year allows us to connect with our community ahead of our summer program and continue our mission to bring free books and STEAM activities to kids,” said Susan McBrearty, president of the Oswego Bookmobile.
Breakfast tickets are $7 for children ages 2 to 8 and $12 for ages 9 and older. Raffle tickets are one for $3, two for $5 or five for $10. Both can be purchased in advance at the Oswego Public Library or from Friends of the Library and Oswego Bookmobile board members.. Tickets will be available at the door.
Guests are encouraged to use the church’s north side entrance, located at 133 E. Fourth St., Oswego.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Friends of the Oswego Public Library and the Oswego Bookmobile, both of which provide free books and literacy resources to the community.
