APW Recognizes Writing Contest Winners

PARISH – Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District recognized several students as winners of a recent writing contest at an “Author’s Tea Awards Ceremony.”

The topic for the writing assignment was “The Best of Me.”

First, second and third place awards were distributed to the following:

Spencer Ault (first), Kellen Bettinger (third), Norah Bettinger (second), Parker Bigelow (third), Zoey Chybinski (second), Hailey Comstock (third),Cassiana Cross (third), Willie Daniels (third), Olivia Degraw (second), Betty Deyo (second), Daphne Fanning (third), David Holst (first), Jonathan Jaynes (second), Emma Millerschin (first), Christina Morse (first), Aubrey Shaffer (first), Eleanor Woods (second) and Mason Woolson (first).

The event was sponsored by the APW Parent-Teacher-Student Association, who provided prizes for the young writers.

Final judging was by the local Wit and Wisdom writers group, and the district would like to thank members Jule Ann Lattimer, Judyanne Grant, Roxanne Ferguson and Cheryl Ann Potts for their time.

“Each year, the creativity and imagination of our writers is such an inspiration,” read the awards ceremony flier.

The event was organized and coordinated by a group of committee members, including staff members Karen Quartz, Shannon Isham, Christine Weisenburger, Laura Weaver and Maria Hendrix.
