OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women celebrated its 25th anniversary at Vona’s Restaurant in Oswego awarding scholarship check to Michaela Moran, graduating Oswego High School senior.

Moran plans to attend SUNY Oswego for medical technology.
The OABPW membership includes working women and retirees. The group supports local groups and organizations.
OABPW contributes to Human Concerns Food Pantry and focuses on a Thanksgiving cash/food drive for them. Because of the tremendous need a spring cash collection has also been newly implemented.
OABPW also adopts needy families at Christmas and provides gifts and food.
Each year the group awards a scholarship to a local female graduate of Oswego High School. In 2014 Mexico High School was added to the scholarship opportunity.
Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at Vona’s at 6 p.m. with the exception of July and August. Also the December meeting is held the second Tuesday to accomodate our holiday offerings.

We are encouraging new membership now.
If interested in joining this group of women please reach out to Pat Cole, membership committee, at 342-2455.
Our collect said before each meal and meeting: Keep us O God from pettiness; let us be large in thought, word, deed. Let us be done with fault finding and leave off all self seeking; May we put away all pettiness and meet each other face to face without self pity and without prejudice. May we never be hasty in judgment and always be generous. Let us take time for all things; make us grow calm, serene, gentle. Teach us to put into action our better selves, straight forward and unafraid. May we realize it is the little things that create differences, And O Lord God, let us remember to be kind.
