HANNIBAL – Hannibal Central School District’s middle school students recently demonstrated knowledge gained in the classroom as they presented various academic projects at the annual Cruizin’ Kenney event.

Family members, friends and HCSD staff members navigated the hallways of the Dennis M. Kenney Middle School to find musical performances, popcorn/basket raffles, fifth grade displays on historical places, people and events, art work, technology initiatives, seventh grade and eighth grade science projects, highlights from the Life Skills class, a garden demonstration, a sixth grade wax museum and a plethora of additional work.
The middle schoolers explained to guests how different forms of energy work, where underwater hockey originated, the physics of motocross and why Apollo, Marion Blumenthal Lazan and Poseidon are all important to history.
The live wax museum featured students dressed as their favorite character or historical figure.
The students remained statuesque next to their character profiles, which provided details of each figure.
Seventh graders Julia Shortself, Mackenzie Astle and Jenna Cole tended to the raised-bed gardens and greenhouse and shared that herbs, fruits and vegetables will be harvested this summer.
