Assemblyman Will Barclay recently met with community advocates Teresa Woolson and her daughter, Sarah Gauger, who are working to help raise awareness about the dangers of synthetic drugs.

Woolson and Gauger recently helped organize a forum held on synthetic drugs at Oswego High School. Poison control, health experts and the district attorney discussed the problems with synthetic drugs.
Woolson recently lost her son, who died under the influence of synthetic drugs.
The family is working with Oswego City School District to have the dangers of synthetic drugs be taught as part of the health curriculum. They would also like to see other districts incorporate this important public health matter in their classrooms as well.
Barclay is working to draft legislation that would further criminalize the sale and distribution of synthetic drugs.
