Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,Iâ€â€Pulaski) today issued the following statement after learning that the Governor is considering holding state tax refunds from residents.
“I’m astounded this is even a consideration. This money is held by the state for hardworking residents. It doesn’t belong to state government, and should not be used to try to balance our budget. An income tax refund is a simple concept that should be respected. It should not be withheld because of the state’s mismanaged budget.â€Â
