OSWEGO, NY – Woodchuck Saloon, 1 Mitchell St., will host a chicken BBQ to benefit United Way of Greater Oswego County beginning at noon on October 15.

In addition to the BBQ there will also be a United Way chili cook-off.
“Woodchuck Saloon is famous for its chicken BBQs and has hosted numerous fundraisers,” said United Way Campaign Assistant Kay Duguay. “We are grateful that they have chosen to partner with us to increase awareness of United Way and help raise funds to benefit the many human services programs that United Way supports.”
“We are always willing to help,” added Becky Walpole, owner of Woodchuck Saloon. “United Way does much for our community and we are looking forward to hosting this chicken BBQ for them.”
As part of the BBQ United Way staff and board members will engage in some friendly competition with United Way’s first chili cook-off.
“United Way staff and board members will be fine tuning their own recipes and bringing their homemade chili to the BBQ. Attendees will be able to taste each chili and vote on their favorite,” Duguay said.
The United Way BBQ begins at noon and continues until sold out.
Dinners include chicken, Woodchuck style baked beans, salt potatoes and roll.
Pre-sale tickets are $10 and available at Woodchuck Saloon, Clubhouse Tavern and from United Way staff.
Dinners are available for takeout or delivery.
