Oswego County BOCES Construction Technology student Derick Powell (Phoenix) is using his class time to outfit the Phoenix Town Court.
Powell, a senior at John C. Birdlebough, is working on building a jury box and witness stand for the Phoenix Town Court.

The collaboration with the Town of Schroeppel Court came about when (now retired) Judge Jack Brandt contacted BOCES Construction Technology teacher Craig Mahon in the 2012-2013 school year.
Judge Karen Brandt-Brown is now involved with overseeing the project.
The project is being built with grant money.
The jury box and witness stand will be delivered after they are stained.
The Construction Technology program at Oswego County BOCES provides students classroom and hands-on experience in various aspects of the construction industry.
Students rotate through the areas of green construction, electric wiring, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, heating and steel construction.
A strong emphasis is placed on the core employability skills and construction competencies related to math, science and communications.
