Books Sale Helps Feed Hungry

OSWEGO – Inez Parker, left, organizer of the May book sale at the Church of the Resurrection, gives 10 percent of the sale’s proceeds to Oswego’s Blessings in a Backpack program, represented by Beth Hallinan, the program’s co-coordinator.
Blessings in a Backpack provides weekend food to hundreds of needy elementary schoolchildren in Oswego.
Church of the Resurrection, the Episcopal church on West Fifth Street, is the lead sponsor of the Oswego program, with assistance from Grace Lutheran Church and other local organizations.
