Open to youth ages 8 through 14, Camp Hollis offers a week-long summer residential camp experience for 9- to 14-year-olds and an overnight experience for 8-year-olds, complete with swimming, nature hikes, games, campfires, arts and crafts and many more activities.

Youth can now register for week-long and overnight sessions.

Sessions are broken down into three different age groups, beginning June 26 and running through Aug. 12.

There will be a mini-camp from June 23 to June 24 to introduce 8-year-olds to an overnight summer camp experience.

For more information on camp dates, programming, special needs or requests, or for an application, call the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau weekdays at 315-349-3451.

Youth Bureau staff will gladly answer questions and send applications.

Applications are also available online at www.oswegocounty.com/youth/hollis.

Camp fliers will be supplied to all Oswego County schools and should be sent home with students with information on applying for camp.

“We also encourage new, returning, and interested campers and families to visit Camp Hollis during our open house on May 15 from 1 to 4 p.m. to see the camp, meet some of the staff and ask questions about what the summer could bring,” said Oswego County Director of Parks and Recreation Brandon Morey.

Registration fees for Camp Hollis are on a sliding scale. Families who may need financial assistance may contact the Youth Bureau for options beyond the sliding scale.

Scholarships are available from the Friends of Camp Hollis.

Anyone wishing to support camper scholarships may mail a check payable to “Friends of Camp Hollis” to Friends of Camp Hollis, P.O. Box 291, Oswego, NY, 13126.

Camp Hollis is owned by Oswego County and operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.

Located at 40 Health Camp Road, off Lakeshore Road in the town of Oswego, the facility is also available May through October for use by families, clubs, school groups and other organizations.
