Catholic Charities ‘Great Tastings’ Adds Chocolate And Sweets Food Stations

OSWEGO – Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s “Great Tastings,” has added Man in the Moon Candies and Kathy’s Cakes and Specialty Treats as food vendors for the event, 2 – 5 p.m. May 1 at the Lake Ontario Conference Center, Oswego, said Mary Margaret Pezzella-Pekow, CCOC executive director.

Joining these food offerings are Tavern on the Lock, Canale’s Restaurant, The Hot Shoppe, and G.S. Steamers, Pezzella-Pekow said. “They are complimented by beverage sampling being offered by Colloca Estate Winery, Lakeland Winery, and Eagle Beverage, which will be offering both craft beer and wine samples.

“Last year’s event raised nearly $10,000 for our Community Services programs,” said Pezzella-Pekow. “ Thanks to the generous support we received from this event, our food pantry was able to feed 488 families, and the Catholic Youth Organization, received funding for its summer youth program. Our goal this year is to raise $12,500 for our Community Services programs.

“This year’s event will again feature pianist Larry Rapshaw, multiple gift raffles, a 50-50 drawing, and New York State Lottery ticket boards.

“For the price of a ticket, guests receive a complimentary wine glass and can sample offerings from NY wineries and local restaurants and specialty shops.

There will also be a 50-50 drawing, and multiple gift raffles. Vendors will have items for purchase.”

Tickets are $25 per person and are available at the Catholic Charities office, 365 W. First St., Fulton, at the door, or from any CCOC board member.

Major sponsors include the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, Foster Funeral Home, Chirello Advertising, Fulton Savings Bank, C’s Market, Seiter Law Firm and Oswego Speedway.
