Paul Schoeneck, Principal K-S, said the event served as an introduction to the middle school “because the students are new to us.”

In the cafeteria, students and their families enjoyed a hot dog, chips, a cookie and a drink in between classroom visits.

When parents visited classrooms, teachers reviewed expectations and urged parents to check student agendas to ensure completion of homework assignments.

“The bottom line is we are here for your child,” said Team 1 teacher Maria Donahue. “We want your sons or daughters ready to fly to seventh grade.”

Matt Penrod, Principal A-J, and Concetta Galvan, Principal T-Z, and several teachers also participated in the event.

They mingled with families and helped them navigate the hallways.
