FULTON, NY – The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County has announced that the seventh annual CAC Chicken Wing Fest will be held February 9 beginning at 6 p.m at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego.

All are invited to support the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County while enjoying another amazing night of delicious chicken wings from favorite local restaurants, sampling cold brews provided by Eagle Beverage of Oswego, fun raffles, music and good times with your friends.

Each restaurant will offer samples of its signature and traditional chicken wings as they compete for the CAC’s coveted Golden Chicken Trophy for the best chicken wing.

With more than 700 people in attendance last year, this is CAC’s most popular fundraiser, allowing it to serve more than 450 abused and traumatized children every year.

This fundraiser is essential to covering operating costs and CAC is very excited to announce that it has been able to expand its facilities to meet the growing demand for services.

Phase one was completed and help is needed to achieve the next stages including installing a cyber crime lab to help local law enforcement investigators and prosecutors catch child pornographers and traffickers in Oswego County.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online at https://cacchickenwingfest18.eventbrite.com.

Sponsorship packages are available starting at $375.

The Child Advocacy Center is a child-focused setting that supports a multi-disciplinary system response to child physical and sexual abuse allegations.

Historically, children who were the subject of such crimes were shuffled from agency to agency where they would have to tell their story of abuse and relive painful events over and over again.

The CAC brings agencies and services together in one child-friendly setting that is non-threatening and physically and psychologically safe for children of all ages.

In doing so, the intent is to minimize unnecessary interviews of children and the discomfort and embarrassment that talking about abuse can cause.

The hope is that we can reduce the trauma that the system can cause to children.
