OSWEGO COUNTY Early Childhood Education students recently got a look at the ins and outs of running a home-based childcare business.
Erica DeLong of Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County visited Monday, Feb. 5 with both the morning and afternoon sessions of the Early Childhood Education program, one of the many CTE offerings at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation.
Beth Britton’s students learned about the different requirements and the application process to start a small business childcare out of one’s home.
The Child Care & Development Council of Oswego County works to encourage and assist those interested in starting a daycare, a critical need in the county as there are three children in need for every one childcare spot available, DeLong said.
