MEXICO – Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation have not wasted any time getting hands-on experience in the kitchen.
The Career and Technical Education students applied lessons learned from instructors, sous chef Samuel Passer and Chef Sue Jerrett, during their preparation of salads, ham and turkey sandwiches and cookies for State Sen. Patty Ritchie’s Oswego County Senior Health and Wellness Fair on Sept. 21 at the Fulton Community Ice Arena.

There, students helped serve the food, replenished food and drinks and offered friendly smiles and conversation with attendees.
The aspiring chefs used knowledge gained and teamwork skills to assemble another 1,400 lunches for a similar event in Jefferson County on Oct. 19.
All Culinary Arts students were involved in the lunch preparations.
Pictured with state Sen. Ritchie, in no particular order, at the Oswego event are Passer and Jerrett, along with students: Brianna McWherter, Paige Thomas, Dawn Mabb, Hannah Kozel and Lorenzo Gonzalez, all of Oswego City School District.
Also pictured is Fulton City School District student Christopher Tetro and Central Square School District students Ryan Latray, Darian Warren and Re’Melo Cason.
