CiTi’s CARE Program Hosts Open House

MEXICO -The Credit Accrual and Recovery for Everyone (CARE) program has come a long way in a short amount of time.

Since the 2015 inception of the alternative education program, CARE has enhanced educational opportunities for local students who have longed for a non-traditional learning environment.

Several successes of the partnership between the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation and SUNY Oswego were highlighted during the program’s inaugural open house event in the lower level of Sheldon Hall.

During the event, students, their families and employees from both CiTi and SUNY Oswego, discussed the program’s 200-mile cardiovascular challenge that will wrap up by the end of January, engaged in conversations about literature, and enjoyed a meal together.

Principal Robyn Proud said a total of 28 students from several school districts in Oswego County have made wonderful academic strides thanks to the commitment from CiTi teachers, SUNY Oswego professors and the college’s pre-service teachers.

Throughout the 2016-2017 school year, Proud said CARE participants will continue to re-engage in, and be more attentive to, learning.
