FULTON – Our upcoming blood drive is on April 29th at the Municipal Building and we still have plenty of open appointment slots to fill! There are many ways you can help but most importantly we hope you come out to donate. We’re looking forward to seeing how big an impact we can make and we NEED you! If you are unable to donate, please consider helping spread the word by encouraging others to sign up and sharing our blood drive information. Diversity among blood donors plays a critical role in helping patients that are fighting cancer and treating those with blood disorders like Sickle Cell Disease by making sure they can receive the most compatible blood matches. A more diverse donor base is essential for helping stabilize the blood supply and meet patient needs, so we should work together to encourage more participation from everyone around us! Power Red donors give a double unit of just red blood cells (the rest is returned to the body) so hospitals have more red blood cells from the most used types in emergency situations. If you’re type 0, A-, or B- please consider signing up for a Power Red appointment. These take about 15 minutes longer than a regular appointment and they count as 2 units towards our impact goal!
