Continental Arms Collectors Association Parades In Fair Haven

FAIR HAVEN, NY – Continental Arms Collectors Association’s Revolutionary War Unit participated in the traditional Save Our Fourth Association’s Fair Haven Independence Parade.

The big bang

Interpreting a company from the 1st New York Regiment, Continental Army, in 1782 they fired repeated volleys for the multitude of spectators celebrating our independence.

Using the 1779 “Regulations for the Order and Discipline of the Troops of the United States” they provided a glimpse into how John Adams envisioned the Fourth of July would be celebrated with “… guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one end of the continent to the other.”
