OSWEGO, NY – Oswego County Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner recently proclaimed April 24 as Arbor Day.

More than a million trees were planted in Nebraska where the holiday was first recognized in the late 19th century.
It is now celebrated throughout the nation and around the world to recognize the importance of trees as a renewable resource as well as a fount of beauty and spiritual renewal.
