OSWEGO COUNTY – The holiday season is quickly approaching and purchasing a local Christmas tree is one way to get into the festive spirit. Christmas tree growers from across Oswego County collectively sell around 15,000 trees per year on nearly 1,000 acres! No matter the shape or size, our Christmas tree growers are ready to assist you in finding that perfect tree. To make the process easier, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County has published the Oswego County Christmas Tree Farm Directory, and the 2024 update is now available.

There are many benefits of purchasing a local Christmas tree. Getting a tree from a nearby farm ensures you receive a fresh cut tree. Not only do they smell better, but they also hold their needles for a longer period. Buying locally also supports Oswego County’s farm businesses, which helps support the local economy. Shopping for a Christmas tree can also be an enjoyable family experience as well. Local Christmas tree growers take pride in making your visit a great experience. So, whether you are a regular purchaser of local Christmas trees or are getting a tree for the first time, take advantage of this opportunity as we move into the holiday season.
