HANNIBAL – Students representing Fairley Elementary and several other area schools recently channeled famous inventors like Edison, Tesla and Einstein during the 17th annual Inventive Minds competition.

The event was held at North Rose-Wolcott Elementary School and offered students an opportunity to explore their curiosity and become problem solvers by showcasing their own inventions.
Thirteen students from Hannibal participated in the program by tapping into their creativity and explaining their creations.
Participants developed presentations to show the judges the concept behind each invention and also verbally explained the process.

Fairley students were all recognized as noteworthy inventors, with fourth grader Natalie Papa also earning honorable mention for her invention titled “Spill Proof Ice Cube Tray.”
All the inventions were developed by the students at home and aimed to find solutions to real world problems or inconveniences.
