Featured Artist For December

OSWEGO, NY – Lakeside Artisans announces that Sharon Terry is its Featured Artist for the month of December.

Terry, who lives in Mexico, joined Lakeside Artisans in July 2011.

Lakeside Artisans will hold a reception for Terry on Dec. 3 from 2 to 6 pm. The reception is open to the public.

Terry has been creating necklaces, earrings, and bracelets for 11 years.

Her journey began with a jewelry magazine and the discovery of a box of her grandmother’s beads in the back of a closet. She found a nearby bead store, took a class and was on her way.

Her inspiration comes from poring over bead catalogs, admiring jewelry worn by friends, and her vivid imagination. Her husband, close friends, and customers are her greatest sources of encouragement.

She particularly enjoys working with semi-precious beads, adding metal, crystal and a variety of other beads to create the sparkle she’s looking for. She has been known to travel to Philadelphia, Rochester, Albany, and as far away as Oberlin, Ohio, in her search for unique and interesting beads.

Lakeside Artisans is carrying a wide variety of work created by Terry. More than 100 pairs of earrings, many unique necklaces, and a great selection of bracelets are on display now.

Her beautiful creations are appropriate for everyday wear or for dressier occasions.

Lakeside Artisans is located at 191 W. First St. in Canal Commons. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

In addition to the work of 16 Central New York artists, Lakeside Artisans carries a selection of paints, brushes, canvas, watercolor paper and other art supplies.
