February Food for Fines

by Contributor | February 11, 2010 7:04 am

The Oswego Public Library is taking nonperishable food donations throughout February as payment for each fine or returned overdue item a patron has. Starting March 1st, the maximum fine per card goes to $20.00.

Fines for overdue items range from 5 cents a day per item (children’s books) to 50 cents a day per item (videos). The maximum fine per item stops at $5.00, so it is always better to bring it back than pay the entire item cost! Also starting March 1st, the maximum number of items checked out on a card increases to 20. You are still limited to four videos and four audio books at a time.

The food donations collected will be given to the Human Concerns Center, 85 East 4th Street.
