OSWEGO, NY – The effort to “Save Fort Ontario” has been widespread.

The Fitzhugh Park Elementary School Student Council recently had a “hat day” to raise funds to help save the fort.

It was a tremendous success and even though the “Fort has been saved” for the time being, these youngsters had local history in mind when conducting the effort.

Displaying their hats are, in front, student council vice president Brooke Farnsworth, Chris Colasurdo, Cash Kennedy and council president Amber Clavellier.

In back are: Deborah Colasurdo, a member of the “Friends of Fort Ontario,” along with FPS Principal Donna Simmons and student council advisor Ed Fayette.
