FULTON – On Tuesday, April 10, the Fulton City GOP interviewed three Republican candidates running for position of Oswego County sheriff.

The three candidates are: Oswego County Undersheriff Eugene Sullivan, former NYS Trooper Phillip Cady, and former Syracuse police officer Donald Hilton.

Fulton GOP Vice Chairman, Marc Holliday, whom is also chairman of the candidate selection committee said, “All three candidates are duly qualified, and all are very experienced. The committee felt after interviewing each candidate that Undersheriff Eugene Sullivan was the best fit and natural choice to be the next sheriff when Sheriff Todd retires this year. The committee felt endorsing Undersheriff Sullivan would help maintain the continuity and familiarity within the sheriff’s department.”

Fulton GOP chairman Salvatore Lanza said, “Gene Sullivan is an outstanding candidate and the committee was very impressed. Undersheriff Sullivan already is familiar with running the sheriff’s department. He has more than 20 years of experience and service rising through the ranks from a patrolman to undersheriff of the Oswego County sheriff’s department.”

The Fulton City GOP is proud to endorse a home-grown Oswego County candidate like Eugene Sullivan for sheriff.

The Fulton GOP would also like to thank Sheriff Todd for all his years of dedicated service to the residents of Oswego County and we wish him a long, happy retirement.
