G. Ray Bodley Inducts 47 Into National Honor Society

The Joseph Campolieta Chapter of the National Honor Society at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton inducted 47 new members at a ceremony on the evening of December 12.

A total of 47 students were recently inducted to the Joseph Campolieta Chapter of the National Honor Society at G. Ray Bodley High School. The 2012-13 inductees are, first row from left to right: Alissa Robinson, Taylor Rose, Danielle Rupert, Anthony Semeraro, Casey Shannon, Abigail Shatrau, Tevin Simard, Noah Sorbello, Jordyn Stone, Nicholas Summerville, and Mariah Whipple. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 on the premise of four pillars: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. For consideration into the Joseph Campolieta Chapter at G. Ray Bodley a junior or senior must demonstrate a commitment to learning and have a grade point average of at least 89.5%. He/she must also have proven leadership abilities and donated his/her time to volunteering at school or in the community. In addition each candidate must uphold principles of outstanding moral ethics – demonstrating honesty, respect, and responsibility.

School Principal Donna Parkhurst was given the honor of recognizing the new inductees at the ceremony.

She commended each of them for their hard work and esteemed accomplishment, saying, “You are an example of the very best at G. Ray Bodley.”

Serving as the master of ceremonies for the induction was the chapter’s current members and officers.

President Patrick Fink, Vice President Katelyn Caza, Historian Alan Cronk, Parliamentarian Mitchell Lalik, Secretary Eva Jones, and Treasurer Hannah Geitner welcomed each new member to the chapter and led the students in a candlelight pledge signifying their induction into the elite academic society.
