FULTON, NY – Guiding Eyes For The Blind made a presentation at the September Fulton Lions Club meeting.

GEFB provides guide dogs to people with vision loss to give those individuals greater independence.
Fulton Lions Club President Michelle Stanard (far right) presented a $1,000 donation to Mary Oonk, GEFB co-region coordinator for the Central NY Region; and Erica McPhail, a GEFB puppy raiser.
Oonk is also a puppy raiser and joining them is Phineas, a six-month-old German Shepard in training.
After about 14 months with its “raiser,” the puppy is relocated to the Guiding Eyes training center in Yorktown Heights, where it will spend the next six to eight months with a trainer before being assigned to its eventual owner.
The Fulton Lions Club, also known for its Lions Loot Sweepstakes, Lions Mane Event Comedy Night, (October 20), and annual Duck Derby, provides financial assistance for those in need of eyeglasses, eye exams, and hearing aids to residents in the greater Fulton area.
