HANNIBAL – Tony Ortolano is the new school resource officer, sharing his time between Dennis M. Kenney Middle School and Hannibal High School.

He was recently named to the position after working with an intervention program at Elmcrest Children’s Center, Syracuse, and retiring with 22 years of service in the U.S. Army.
“I was a recruiter in the Army for four years, and I enjoyed being in schools,” he said. “I just looked at this as a good opportunity.”
Ortolano said he enjoys listening to students and guiding them through any difficulties they may have.
SRO duties include investigating incidents, helping resolve issues and making sure discipline is maintained in school common areas.
Ortolano has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Buffalo State, and is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology from Liberty University.
