Head Start Pre-K continues to accept enrollment applications for September 2012.

The program’s goal is promoting kindergarten readiness through a variety of learning materials and developmentally appropriate opportunities that assist children in developing academically, socially, and emotionally.
Classes have a maximum of 18 students and are led by a teacher, teaching assistant, and classroom aide. Centers are also staffed by family advocates, cooks, and nurses. The program includes meals and snacks, encourages parent involvement, and provides family support.
Head Start enrolls three- and four-year-old children and is provided at no cost. Families may apply at one of the program’s eight centers or by calling the program’s main number, 598-4711, to schedule an appointment. Waiting lists are maintained throughout the school year.
