FULTON, NY — The Honey Foundation will hold a barbecue chicken fundraiser Sunday, August 16 at the Volney Fire Department, Route 3 in Volney.

The dinner runs from Noon until the food is gone. Dinners are $8.00.

The dinner will raise money for Camp Sunshine, a summer camp for children with cancer; Golisano Children’s Hospital/Child Life Specialists; and a scholarship fund in memory of Heather Oney.

Heather “Honey” Oney of Fulton died March 20, 2009, just a few days after her 16th birthday. She fought brain cancer and won, but lost a second battle against the disease.

The Honey Foundation keeps her memory alive and works to improve life for children with cancer.

The fundraiser will feature raffles, door prizes, a dunk tank and other entertainment.

A raffle is already underway, offering four tickets to a baseball game at Fenway Park between the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Heather was a Red Sox fan. There are only 200 tickets, selling for $5 each. Contact Beth Oney at 402-6201 to purchase a ticket or for information on the fundraiser and the Honey Foundation.
