‘Hotcakes For Hospice’ Returns Oct. 19, Features Oswego State Lakers Men’s Hockey Team

Members of the SUNY Oswego Lakers Hockey Team prepare the buffet line for a past Hotcakes for Hospice event to benefit the Friends of Hospice in Oswego County (FOHOC). The event is Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon,  Oct. 19, at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St. Tickets are $15,  children under 5 are free, and take-out meals are available, , said Elena Twiss, executive director for FOHOC.

OSWEGO, NY – The Hotcakes for Hospice breakfast buffet featuring the SUNY Oswego Laker Men’s Hockey Team with Coach Ed Gosek as servers, returns Sunday, Oct. 19 , it was announced by Elena Twiss, Friends of Hospice in Oswego County (FOHOC) executive director.

            The event starts at 8:00 a.m. and tickets will be sold until 11:00 with breakfast served through Noon at the Oswego Elks lodge, 132 W. Fifth St. “Diners will have the opportunity to enter prize drawings‚—including a Lottery board—while they enjoy a  delicious breakfast with the Lakers,” Twiss said. “All proceeds will benefit our programs and the people we serve.”

            Tickets are available at the door. Tickets are $15,  children under 5 are free, and take-out meals are available, Twiss said.

Friends of Hospice in Oswego County is a volunteer organization that provides non-medical support for hospice patients in Oswego County and the Camp Waves of Hope bereavement summer camp experience for children who have lost a loved one, Twiss said.  In addition, we just introduced our Life Longings program, a new service for terminally ill residents offering support by making comfort improvements, helping with milestone celebrations, or fulfilling ‘bucket list’ requests.  For additional information, visit www.friendsofhospice.org, or call 315-216-7580.
